Computational Sustainability is an interdisciplinary field that applies techniques from a broad set of disciplines like computer science, information science, operations research, applied mathematics, and statistics to solve global challenges for balancing environmental, economic, and societal needs for sustainable development. The main aim is to develop computational and mathematical models and methods for decision making concerning the management and allocation of resources in order to help solve some of the most challenging problems related to sustainability and human well being. Last year at IJCAI we have held a panel focusing more on the research perspective. We want now to focus on the industrial perspective, on how industry is facing and contributing to this field with applications, but also internal processes and best practices. In addition, sustainability is one of the dimensions of Trustworthy AI promoted by the European Commission. How does this dimension translates is technical and functional requirements for AI application is still an open question.
